Driven to Distraction: The New Science to Shift from Deficits to Strengths – ADHD & More

Virtual Event

Most people have heard of ADHD or know of someone who may have it. Although ADHD can be a source of challenges, the condition also has an upside – with many successful entrepreneurs and highly creative people attributing their achievements to ADHD.

World-renowned author Dr. Edward M. Hallowell and his co-author Dr. John J. Ratey literally wrote the book on ADD/ADHD more than two decades ago and largely introduced this diagnosis to the public. Join us when Dr. Hallowell, who has the ADHD trait himself, draws on the latest medical discoveries to offer an arsenal of new strategies and lifestyle hacks for thriving with this diagnosis.

Hallowell will explore the varied forms ADHD takes, from hyperactivity to daydreaming, and dispel common myths. He will focus on the positives that can come with this “disorder”—including high energy, intuitiveness and enthusiasm. Parents, caregivers and students will be provided with tools to create a plan for minimizing the downsides and maximizing the benefits of ADHD. All participants will learn how to tap into the power of this trait and discover the keys to unlocking their potential.

Best-selling author Dr. Edward Hallowell is a board-certified child and adult psychiatrist and world authority on ADHD who has spent the past four decades helping thousands of adults and children live happy and productive lives through his strength-based approach to neurodiversity. Co-authored with Dr. John Ratey, 1994’s “Driven to Distraction” sparked a revolution in the understanding of ADHD. Hallowell has been featured on 20/20, 60 Minutes, Oprah, PBS, CNN, and many additional high-profile television, print, and online resources. His newest book “ADHD 2.0” was released in 2021.
