Relational self-awareness is foundational: The most powerful way to improve your relationships is by better understanding yourself—your patterns, reactions, and history.
Our “original love classroom” shapes us: The family system we grow up in teaches us unspoken rules about love, conflict, and emotional expression.
Conflict isn’t the problem—repair is the skill: All relationships experience disconnection. The key is learning how to apologize, take pauses, and come back to connection effectively.
Self-compassion is essential: Treating ourselves with kindness improves not just our wellbeing, but the safety and quality of our relationships.
Forgiveness and emotional responsibility: Healthy relationships require both partners to own their actions, offer genuine apologies, and let go of grudges without dismissing their own needs.
The research is clear. Our relationships are the biggest determinant of our overall happiness and sense of meaning. Yet we are rarely taught how to “do” relationships. Best-selling author Dr. Alexandra Solomon comes to GPS with practical suggestions on how to cultivate a more compassionate approach to our relationships with others, as well as our relationship with ourselves.
Join us and gain a deeper awareness of relationship patterns and what’s behind them. Whether it’s concerning a relationship with a partner, a parent-child relationship or our relationship with ourselves, participants will discover insights to repair ruptures and improve communication and connection. Dr. Alexandra will present strategies and skills we can all use to build relationships founded in curiosity, authenticity, and integrity as we endeavor to be our most authentic selves.
