IN PERSON FUSE EVENT: Own Your Own Future & Student Recognition Event
In person at Glenbard South
FUSE: Families United in Support of Excellence for All, especially students that identify as African American or Black, and the GPS Parent Series will host an in-person back to school special program with a student recognition event.
Saluting our students’ academic performance and leadership skills is a focus of this family event. VaLarie Humphrey will inspire us all and share her own personal life of encountering challenges as an adolescent. Changing her own life from one of trouble to one of transformation is what fuels her dedication to teaching others that it is possible to do the same. She offers a blueprint for a happy, healthy, high-functioning life.
Teens will be encouraged to set goals, demonstrate resilience, navigate setbacks and better understand how their efforts lead to future success. Adult participants will learn how to help their children overcome obstacles, grow to their full potential and utilize their gifts to achieve their dreams.
